Welcome to the most exciting months of the year at Thies Farm & Greenhouses. If you have never experienced Pumpkinland, you owe it to yourself, your family, or any group you are associated with to come join us at either our North Hanley Road or our Creve Coeur Mill Road farm!

We spend the month of September preparing for Pumpkinland, an action packed experience consisting of a unique and very original farm-based play area. Children can enjoy activities such as: cable gliders, slides, tunnels, obstacle courses, a suspended bridge, petting zoos, and a corn field maze.

After enjoying the play area, everyone is welcome to climb aboard and enjoy a wagon ride around the farms (hay-ride atmosphere without the hay). The wagon ride will be narrated by the driver in an attempt to educate the children about farming, and to point out what veggies we have growing at this time of the year plus other interesting facts about our farms.

Pumpkinland is open during the month of October. Our reservation phone line is 314-428-8356. If we do not answer the phone, please leave a message and we will call you back as soon as possible. After settling your date and time on our calendar we will send you a confirmation by mail.

We work very hard on scheduling groups so as not to become overcrowded at any one time. We ask and plead with you to be prompt and well organized upon arrival at either farm on your scheduled day and time. We also staff our farm-based play areas so as to ensure a pleasant and safe experience for everyone.

The total time for each class or group is approximately one hour. This includes both the play-time and the wagon ride. When the designated group leader informs the staff at the farms that the group is ready to leave we will load the pumpkins, which have been counted and boxed, for easy transportation back to the school without suffering any damage. Each paid child admission will receive a 2-4 pound pumpkin along with a pumpkin activity book.

In case of rain on the day you have scheduled to visit on of the farms, please call after 7:30 AM so we can discuss options and/or rescheduling.

As mentioned on the pricing page, we have General Admission for those not in a group or with a school. We welcome all families at any time in which we are open. General Admission does not include a pumpkin or an activity book, but it does include unlimited access to the farm-based play area, the corn maze, and a wagon ride around one of the farms. Pumpkins will be available for purchase at all times to those that enjoy General Admission access.

We welcome birthday parties, church groups, youth groups and the like on weekends, but we do not take reservations for the weekend times. Groups on the weekends can gain access via a General Admission ticket price and we will work our very hardest to accomodate your group and provide a pleasant farm-based play experience.

In addition, our retail markets will be open and they will have a nice selection of produce in October plus all of the October specials such as gourds, pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, fall decorations and much more.
